A full house of 80 quiz enthusiasts raised nearly £450 for Save The Children (SCF) Rossendale Branch at their recent annual Quiz Night at Rawtenstall Cricket Club.

Branch Chairman, Christine Worrell, said “We’ve been holding the quiz for several years now and the number of entrants grows every year. I think it’s down to the work which our quizmasters, Jeff and Rita Heys, put into it on our behalf and word of how good it is has spread to teams across the Valley.”

This year’s event was won by a team from Ramsbottom, with Rawtenstall regulars coming second. Christine continued: “Next year’s Quiz Night has already been booked and we’ll be hoping for another sell-out evening.”

SCF Rossendale will be ending their year of activities with their annual Christmas music evening ‘It’s Christmas’ at St Veronica’s Church Hall in Helmshore on Thursday 3rd December at 7pm. Now a regular and popular event in the calendar, St Veronica’s Primary School Choir and Rossendale Valley Sounds Band will be holding a joint concert of Christmas themed music and songs.
