Please watch this film of the massive recent rescue mission earlier this week in the Med in which Save the Children UK was also involved. It gives an eye opening insight into the horror and despair facing the migrants and the selfless courage and dedication of their rescuers.

Our search and rescue ship in the Med has just carried out its largest rescue yet: saving over 1,000 people - including children, babies and pregnant women - from the treacherous waters. And there are still many more lives to be saved.

This is a hellish journey - no-one should have to risk their lives to escape danger, persecution and poverty. That's why we're there, right now, saving children's lives at sea. Donate now to help our crew save even more lives >> save.tc/xvoH30cTYje

Ballycastle Save the Children had the great pleasure of being asked to supply clothes for the children of Mother Goose Playgroup and Jack Horner pre-school at their Fashion Show on Friday the 16th. It was a wonderful day and I will admit that the children looked wonderful in our pretty dresses, denim jackets and t-shirts. Some of them were shy to begin with but as they came back on for a second and third time their confidence grew and we were even getting Usain Bolt poses from some of them. As we respect the privacy of parents in showing children's photos to the public, we do not have any from the day, but we did get one of the stars of the show whose Mum has allowed us to show him in action. Thanks to everyone who participated on the day. As you will all appreciate it takes a bit of effort to get so many children organized and performing. ... See MoreSee Less
