Manchester Halloween Parade enchants the city in a race to Save the Children of Aleppo

The 8th Annual Manchester Halloween Parade took place on Sunday 30th October with over 1000 people in attendance. The parade was sponsored by The Printworks and organised by two local Philanthropists, Carl Whiteley and David Pilling. This year’s event had a real family feel with many young families embracing the Halloween theme.

Every year, Carl and David, organise the Manchester Halloween Parade to bring the local community together to celebrate Halloween and raise funds and awareness for their chosen charity. They choose a different charity to support each year and this year they chose to support Save the Children.

Carl and David only asked for a minimum charge of £2 per ticket to join the Halloween Parade in order to ensure that the event was affordable and accessible for all.  £1 of this covered their costs and the other £1 donated to their chosen charity, Save the Children, who were also in attendance on the night. This year’s event has raised over £1200 for Save the Children

Carl and Dave have worked so hard on this event and with the purest of intentions, a passion to support the children affected by the war in Aleppo, Syria. Save the Children was founded in 1919 by two sisters, from Ellesmere, Shropshire, who had a vision to achieve and protect the rights of children.

Almost 100 years later, that vision continues to guide the work of Save the Children with the charity now working in 120 countries including the UK.
